I know this is an old thread, but I need to vent. This F***ing website charged me 375 for a resale disclosure packet. There were cheaper package options but neither the blowhards at the management company (Gassen) nor the guy I talked to at condocerts could tell me what the difference in packages was. After you get all the way through the order process it tells me the order will be ready in up to 14 days - unless I want to pay another 75 to rush it down to 3 days. Their website sucks too - I had to fill out everything multiple times because of errors on the site. This is only the start of the headache but I'll stop.

I was in Mr. Craver's English class in 11th grade the year he died. After winter break he just didn't show up to the first day of class, and no one knew where he was. That night I got online later than usual, and a classmate (who later became one of my best friends in high school) IMed me and told me he had died. I was not adjusting well to my millionth move, and this stab absolutely gutted me. I was a mess for a long time. I ordered some of his poetry books, and pleasantly found that at least one of them had already been signed.

So every January, do your one eared elephant impression and walk around with one of your pockets turned out (one of my favorite "slightly pornographic" jokes he used to tell), and remember him.

As a kid in the 50's-70's, I visited the Wedderburn estate on a regular basis. My Mom and Polly Nixion were the best of friends from the 40's. When my folks got married in 1945 it was "Aunt Polly" who gave my Mother her wedding dress to wear. I remember visiting and Grandpa George took me aside and introduced me to grits( funny what a kid remembers) In the 1967 I was attending flight school in Woodbridge VA and was invited to the eldest daughters wedding. It was reminsisent of Gone With The Wind, with the whole household in a tizzy getting everything ready for the wedding. That was the last time I got to go there. I hope that Ms.Jane's health has improved and that all these issues have been resolved.

Hi-
Just found out today when I googled Mark to see what he was up to. He was by far my favorite teacher at Mason. I really felt like he was the only one that understood me or gave a damn. I loved his writing, loved his class, and honestly he probably kept me from doing some really drastic stuff during a really confusing messed up time in my life. I can't believe he's gone. At least he has left his writing behind.

If any of his family or friends see this, please know he made a huge impact in a lot of lives, including mine. I will always have a special place for him.

Funny, all the myths about the Wedderburn community owed by Polly Nixon, I lived there in the 1970's on two occasions and it was a beautiful place that inspired a lot of artists and musicians, I remember Jannel growing up in Janes little house on the property and it must be hard to let it go. But I also remember a mushroom growing out of my bedroom wall when I lived there which attests to the amousuzannt of decay the little houses were suffering. We will alwys have Wedderburn in our hearts.

If you're interested in getting any of Mark's books, those still in print are available at Orchises press, which you can find at http://mason.gmu.edu/~lathbury/catalog.html
If you haven't read his last, published in 2006, it's called SAY WHEN. Mark had the book ready to go when he died, a last gift to his friends and those who wished they could fall into that category.

I wish the certs only cost $100 bucks. In CA they cost $265. Not only dose CondoCerts suck but they are a big scam. I bought the wrong doc. very easy to do seeing how complex their website is. So I only needed one additional doc to send to the escrow for closing and that did not come in the package that I bought. Needless to say this crappy company would not allow me to just buy the one doc they had to sell me the whole other package (That I already HAD) with the additional one doc that my escrow needed to close.... Their managers are rude and un-helpful.... I can't say enough about how bad they are....

When you have no competition you can charge what ever the heck you want I guess.

I must say that I'm alarmed particularly since many of the comments on the linked page are from 2010. I run a webserver from my computer, nothing serious. I just put up some personal stuff, and love managing the server. I get maybe 1 MB of data transfer per day, so it's NOT a heavy server by far.

But what I love is that ClearWire determines that I should not be able to run that. And the fact that my area is on the map, but instead of getting 3M / 1M bandwidth, I get 3M / 0.01M. What good is 3M down when I can't access my gmail quickly enough? I'll archive a conversation, and then have to wait literally 10 mins before I can quit my browser. Otherwise it gives me the "gmail is still working, if you close now you will lose recent work" or whatnot.

And their VoIP service is a joke. The modem will randomly disconnect, thus dropping your phone call. Sometimes people can't hear me on the other end. My cell phone hasn't dropped calls in years, and this is AT&T. Supposedly the network dropping calls like flies.

Pathetic. I too have reported them to the Dallas BBB for their piss poor service. Why the hell did I ever change from AT&T? Before I was paying ~$80/month for phone and internet. Now I'm paying $55, but for what? Useless, useless, useless.
